INTERLOCKING STABLIZED
SOIL BLOCKS
When we first came across the Interlocking Stabilized Soil Blocks (ISSBs) it was one of those moments that changes everything....
It is a technology designed in Uganda, with machines built locally in Kenya. The technology is great because it does not burn down the forest to create brick kilns. The ISSBs buildings erected look like Legos, and are sustainable, affordable, great looking, provide local jobs, and is a green technology. As you can probably tell, we totally love these things! We initially partnered with the UK foundation that promoted these bricks until it closed down in the 2008 downturn. So we picked up part of the mantle, and we host training conferences, make village training charts, supply machines locally, offer project consulting and promote this technology.
We are not engineers, or building contractors, but we effectively train and provide consulting to organizations and local people on making ISSB buildings, EcoSan composting latrines, Rainwater Harvesting Tanks, and even came up with our own Connect Africa rocket stove design made from the cracked bricks.
You gotta try these ISSBs out for your project, and we will walk along side you, train your team and see Africa transform together!
